Biospective is currently seeking an experienced, driven Scientific Business Development Associate to contribute to the growth of our client base. The Scientific Business Development Associate will focus on creating new opportunities with potential clients for our pre-clinical and clinical research services.


The primary responsibilities for this position include:

  • Generate and prospect leads for potential new pharmaceutical/biotech clients
  • Actively seek out new opportunities through cold emailing, cold calls, networking, referrals, and other outbound marketing methods
  • Coordinate appointments with the business development team
  • Coordinate generation of proposals and contracts
  • Generate and analyse data related to business development


Skills and Requirements

  • Background in Life Sciences, ideally with knowledge in Neuroscience
  • Minimum of 1–2 years experience in sales or business development
  • Experience with outbound marketing strategies
  • Experience with professional networking (e.g. LinkedIn)
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English (Most of the clientele is outside of Canada)


  • Strong interest for Research & Development, Science and Technology
  • Outgoing personality with strong interpersonal skills
  • Self-confidence and demonstrated ability to influence outcomes in conversations
  • Ability to handle rejection and stay positive
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
